Chapter three

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Words of JS, Page 345 "The Gods came together & CONCOCKED the plan of MAKING THE WORLD & THE INHABITANTS,...."

The dictionary gives the meaning of "concocted" as: "To invent or devise." Thus, the plan of the organization of this earth and PROVIDING TABERNACLES FOR ITS INHABITANTS WAS NOT AFTER A HEAVENLY PATTERN but had its beginning in the council in heaven.

Continuing on same page: "An other thing the learned Dr says the Lord made the world out of nothing, you tell them that God made the world out of somthing, & they think you are a fool. But I am learned & know more than the whole world, the Holy Ghost does any how, & I will associate myself with it. BEAUREAU, to organize the world out of chaotic matter. element THEY ARE PRINCIPLES THAT CANNOT BE DISOLVED THEY MAY BE REORGANIZED . "

"BEAUREAU" means to organize that which already exists in an unorganized or chaotic condition. Thus, that which is organized can be reorganized but not destroyed.

OUR SPIRITS WHICH ARE INTELLIGENCES ARE NOT A PRODUCT OF CREATION:

Words of JS, Page 341 "If man had a beginning he must have an end. - might proclaim. GOD NEVER HAD THE POWER TO CREATE THE SPIRIT OF MAN
INTELIGENCE exist upon a self existent principle no creation about it. "
Page 346 "GOD NEVER HAD POWER TO CREATE THE SPIRIT OF MAN. GOD HIMSELF COULD NOT CREATE HIMSELF. INTELLIGENCE IS ETERNAL & IT IS SELF EXHISTING, .... "

Since SPIRIT IS INTELLIGENCE we find in the dictionary the meaning of "intelligence" as, "the c apacity to acquire and apply knowledge." Yet, in the status as "spirit," although they had the capacity their environment did not provide the opportunity to progress. Wherefore,
God, comprehending this, had to create a situation where they, through experience, could
receive and advance in knowledge:

D & C 93:33 "For man is spirit. The elements are eternal. and spirit and element,
inseparably connected, receive a fulness of joy;
34 And when separated, man cannot receive a fulness of joy.
35 The elements are the tabernacle of God; yea, man is the tabernacle of God. even temples: and whatsoever temple is defiled, God shall destroy that temple.

Since ELEMENT IS GOD'S TABERNACLE, God is in all creation. The revelation also stresses the importance of spirit and element being inseparable to receive a fullness of joy. This means that they, even though eternal, once were separate: the one "SPIRIT" - SELF EXISTENT, and the other "ELEMENT" - ADDED TO THE SPIRIT. Thus, for the spirit to be changed from the status of just "BEING" into a situation of "PURPOSE" where progression and, eventually, a state of glory would become a reality we find the Supreme Being going forward with His plan and so His first step in this direction must be the ORGANIZATION OF ELEMENT so let us study next - The Creation.
